Welcome to the 9th video of "Equipment Garage Gurus ".  Today Nikki talks about additional maintenance that chainsaws need.

Chainsaw Maintenance Transcript

We've already talked a little about small engine maintenance, but did you know that chainsaw chains need regular maintenance as well?  As you use your chainsaw, the chain gets worn from use in a couple different ways.  The blade, of course, will dull over time which increases the effort it takes to cut wood and that puts unnecessary strain on the engine and you.  Also chains are made of small parts that will stretch apart as they're used.  If left unchecked, a stretched chain can wreck sprockets and even your chainsaw bar.  For that reason, you should always check your chainsaw between uses and sharpen the blade and tension the chain as needed.
